The craft brewery landscape is ever-changing. Last year the Brewers Association eliminated the requirement that brewery’s main production has to be beer. That opened up a world of possibilities. And pH Experiment (part of the Craft Brew Alliance that includes Kona, Widmer Brothers and Redhook) is here to find innovative ways to help you get your drink on. They conduct research and focus-groups to see how these “category-blurring” products will do for consumers.
Karmen, the general manager at pH Experiment along with Thomas Bleigh, brewer (and their amazing team), created products like Pre, an apertivo-inspired cider and Pacer, a 2% ABV hard seltzer. The beverages hit the shelves in July. If you taste Pre or Pacer be sure to visit their website, https://phbevs.com/ and give pH Experiment some product feedback. Did it quench your thirst? That is their main objective, after all. You can also sign-up to be part of a focus (or phocus as they call it) group.
pH Experiment was part of a larger story in the latest issue of Imbibe titled “Fermenting Change.” You can pick up a copy today and read how craft breweries are evolving. Enjoy some bonus outtakes from my shoot with pH.
