Saturday’s events (for me) were all about meeting iconic foodies and photographing a lot of vegetables. Okay, there were some doughnuts involved too. (If you haven’t had a Nola doughnut yet- go. enjoy. and thank me later.)
The main event on Saturday, Grand Tasting, featured a lot of wine tasting and some enjoyable snacks. My highlight was meeting the editor of Bon Appetit, Adam Rapport. I introduced myself and then begged him to hire me. Ha! I didn’t do the last part, but it crossed my mind.
I also photographed the fun-size event, Vegetables: A Love Story… hosted by none other than Bon Appetit’s sister site, Healthyish. I met Portland’s food icon, Joshua McFadden. He is the owner/chef at Ava Gene’s and cookbook author of Six Seasons (which is awesome by the way) and he’s involved with Tusk and Suttle Lake Lodge (try his chicken sandwich next time you’re near Sisters, Oregon). The entire event was perfect (the table decorations by my friend Jenna Winkler were gorgeous) and all the food was amazing. There was also a booth where you could make your own natural liquid soap. If Feast has a similar event next year I would highly recommend it.
That smiling lady right above this, her name is Erin. She’s awesome. Here is her Feast recap: http://bakerybingo.com/feast-2017-recap/
