Oh, my word… time flies! First, welcome to my new blog. This doesn’t look like the “first post” because I transferred all of my food posts from my portrait blog. But this if my first official post to PDX Food Photographer. So welcome and enjoy.
I say time flies because I photographed this meal awhile back when Stocksy asked me to produce something special for their #FoodieFriday series. I was honored that they asked me and I really enjoyed doing this photo shoot for Stocksy. The blog post has been out for awhile now. After it was posted I had planned to post my blog on the coat tails of the FoodieFriday post. Somewhere between the photo shoot and now I decided to create this food blog. Of course starting a new blog takes some time, there are ALWAYS technical difficulties (at least for me) and I traveled to Zion National Park for a week too. I am back, rested (well… mentally rested, we did a lot of hiking) and the new blog is up and running. I am finally ready to post a lot of food photography!
I would post the recipes again but Stocksy laid out all three recipes for the grilled swordfish, asparagus salad and gin mojitos. For the recipes please click on their blog. The food was delicious… especially the cocktail. I owe a thank you to my friend Louise who helped me with the cocktail (and she’s the hand model). Thanks, Louise.
I hope you enjoy the photos, the #FoodieFriday series and I hope you try the recipes. (I know it’s rainy and dreary today here in Portland… but we still have some 80 degree summer days left for some grilling.) Enjoy!
I’m drooling! Gorgeous textures and vibrant colors and even capturing the smoke on the grill? That’s talent!
I love the way you use light and layers, Aubrie. I take mental notes every time I see you food images, and slowly but surely, you are making me into a better photographer. I really like the image of the hand picking the tomatoes – I always appreciate a little life in a picture.
Looks awesome Aubrie! Love the look of your new blog, Cheers!
