Did you know that one of Portland’s neighborhoods, Kenton, was a modern-day meat utopia back in the 1950s? When Swift Meat Packing acquired the Union Meat Company, Kenton became a major meat packing center for the Northwest. Named after the meat companies, Swift and Union, is now one of Kenton’s favorite restaurants. Chef Aaron Hepp-Buchanan cooks up some mighty meat options and seasonal pub fare. It’s not a Portland hot spot without draft beers and regional wines and Swift and Union will not disappoint. Come hungry and thirsty, leave happy.
Swift and Union is located at 8103 N. Denver in the Kenton Neighborhood. For hours, happy hour info, menus and additional information, check out their website.
Zig & Kristen, owners of Swift & Union and Tabor Tavern, invited me to the restaurant to take some delicious food photos. Their food was amazing, I’m in love with the creme brulee and I definitely think you should go and check out this new Portland pub tonight! For a taste of what is on their menu check out the photos below and read the captions. You’ll be hungry by the time you’re done browsing. Enjoy the photos.
